Day 7: End Of Week 1. 18 Days Remain.
Another slow morning, but my body feels mostly recovered from yesterday. I must have gotten enough sleep, thankfully. I finished my morning talk with my mom and brother that we try to do every morning, and now the boyfriend asked me to call the apartment building we're looking at tomorrow to ask how long it would take from signing a lease to moving into an apartment based on background checks and such.

On the Packing Front
Today is the day I make myself finish thinking about the essential stuff I need in the kitchen on day one. I'm sure it'll take less work and thinking than I'm making it out to be, but it's also hard to stay focused on one box while I move throughout the house. I'm sure other stuff will end up packed, too, by the end of the day.
Boxes Packed
Black Media Box 1 & 2 + Harleen - We had some of our physical media stored in these black fabric organizers in our closet. They work great, have a lid, and keep the games snug, so I just put them all into two boxes with some of our hardcover comics, including Harleen which is one of my personal favorites. Given the way I've taped and packed everything I have faith both boxes will be totally alright and bonus points, they're not that heavy!
Kitchen Essentials 2 - Half packed. I put some essential items in a tight hard plastic bucket, and some baking dishes in a box. Now I need to spend tomorrow figuring out if I can lay out the box to fit in all three of my glass bowls without making it too heavy. If it is, then I should fit in the melamine mixing bowls instead, even though I would prefer to keep them until the last day. I'll also need to pack a separate box of just the food containers because those are going to be necessary.
Once the rest of the packing materials get here the boyfriend can finish the electronics box he started on and I can pack the rest of the books in earnest.
Stretch
Today starts my ambitious plan to do two programs at one time. One program specifically for my ankles and calves, and another program set at the Absolute Beginner level for full body just to make sure I'm still stretching the other important stuff. I'm skipping the full body one today, though, because the packing has me wiped.

- Ankle & Calves Day 1 - I made the absolute right choice to start this program. My ankles and calves are in dire need of focused stretching. This is going to help me out in a lot of ways, I can already tell. Especially in my hips, it feels like. I am excited to keep this up.
Chess

Almost talked myself out of doing a game today. But then reminded myself I'm playing Chess for fun and losing against a computer has no stakes. So I played my game against the level 2 bot and won again. I think I'm ready for the level 3 bot. I was able to see some of the mistakes the level 2 bot made while we played, which was new. So I need more of a challenge in order to keep improving.
Baking
I made the plain sliced bread!! And that's all the energy I have to say about it. Other than it's delicious. Not even a photo here for you.
Tekken 8

I went in without doing a single warmup because I was too tired. I was only logging in to do the remaining matches I needed to for my battlepass. 15ish matches later, one new rank, but I'm struggling against stupid stuff at this current rank.
Note to self, warm ups and drills make me play better. I should do them if I want to feel good. Who would have thought. I think today has taught me that trying to half ass Tekken 8 right now would only make me dissatisfied. Since I'm only playing it to finish the battle pass, I'm going to go all in on getting better at playing to make each match feel fun and engaging. That means not really touching Third Strike until I'm done, but that's fine. I can always get back to it, and focus is more important right now.
Drawing

Finally got myself to draw something. Trying to come up with the first panels to the next comic I want to draw, while also getting comfortable with Clip Studio Paint. This app kind of overwhelms me. I don't know how to feel comfortable doing anything. I really want to come to understand it and see why other people are so attached to using it. Coming from Procreate it's an adjustment, but it's still been fun in its own ways.
And they recently added quickshape, which was a Procreate feature I used heavily. I should try redrawing this with it and see if I don't land on something cleaner. And then I can test the text tool and see what it's all about.
Things On Break:
- Forums
- Game Dev
- SF Third Strike (On break until I finish the Tekken battlepass)
Thinking About Tomorrow
I really hope it's an easy work day tomorrow. Though I think I need to spend a couple of hours doing some writing. But that sounds like I could make it relaxing for myself. I'll just try to put my packing brain at ease and focus on work.
Dates I'm Looking Forward To
- July 2nd - Avatar fighting game release!!
- August 6th - Marvel Tokkon release!
